... Ok, so Nitori, the sumo wrestler is now in the fray. Here's hoping her combat style (heavy single strikes and powerful holds and throws) will help despite the fact she's a Stage 3 boss and by the ludicrous stage reliant power scail logic of this comic setting would mean that Remi or Reimu could knock her unconscious with a flick of their wrists.

A stage 3 boss absolutely creamed an EX Boss/phantasm mid-boss backed up by a phantasm boss/playable character in the very first round of the tournament.

While Reimu doesn't even drop a sweat.
Reimu already pointed out that Marisa's attacks are magic-based. Her without her magic is like a fish out of water. Though her butt-muscles are pretty strong... Plus...whatever Mima and Byakuren were doing before the match must be part of what's causing Marisa to weaken.
It looks like Marisa's going in for a huge burst of overwhelming strength to put Reimu off-balance, then Nitori follows up with a presumably more sustained attack with sumo moves. If Remilia had gone first, the Kirisame team might've been able to score a quick tap-out due to Remi's arrogance.

That was before two stage 5 bosses both agreed that they needed to beat Remi and Reimu at all costs before they could organize and utterly trounce them, since the both of them admitted that Remi's frantic flailing when she got handcuffed outside the ring could knock them outright if one hit them. Also, Komachi, a Stage 5 equivalent boss was beaten handily by a Stage 6 and EX stage boss within one page of her getting into the ring.
And I could point out all the other times stage = power in the comic, like Hiriji sending Nazrin into low orbit with a flick of a finger or Reisen and Yomou beating up a Stage 1, 2 and 4 boss between panels.
OR I can just say Yuugi's an Oni, they're an S class Yokai species and are second only to vampires in relation to raw power. And that Dei Shirou seems to revert to Stage = strength, when he ran out of actually decent ways to wrap a fight up.

Its the hakkero. She's not hurt, she's overheating (more figuratively, but literally it seems as well.)
Marisa goes into cooldown and Nitori jumps in..... if the match ever goes 2v2 in the ring then she's done for. At least that's what I think is going on.
But see, all those examples you used make sense without counting in the stage = power thing.
...ok, maybe not the one from the last match. That was iffy.
