Why are these two always pictured all lovey-dovey everywhere? I've seen so many pictures with them as a pair by now, which makes no sense judging by their relationship in the series, and I can't really think of any reason why they are, either.

I must obviously have missed something, could someone enlighten me? xD

Fans being fans.

They're like Kaguya/Mokou, despite the relationship in series the fans love the thought of the two girls being close and tsundere for eachother.

Myself included.

I say the final battle scene with the 2 plays a LARGE part in it. As far as touhou guys, no such thing has happened in the canon works but I bet if either of the 2 said anything even remotely freindly to each other, the fanon would have a field day with it.

SayaKyou is well, well within shippable range. More than a lot of things, really.

well, the manga's last scene with those two is much more hopeful and friendly than what happened in the anime. It actually got a little smile out of me; a very sweet moment all around

Don't see how that's relevant to anything, but probably some 20 odd years, since you ask.

My question is answered though. I thought I had missed something huge, but as it's just "the regular" I guess I haven't, hehe. I can't remember seeing many other relatively unrelated pairings so consistently paired up with each other, anyway. I for one certainly see these two as a more unusual couple, at least.
