If its a stopwatch, that's the first 5 seconds and it means she might be smugly overconfident.
But if its a timer, that's the last 5 seconds and she's smug because she's about to win.
The smug face works for both cases.

If it’s an iPhone, it’s a timer. It matches the timer interface on mine, at least.

That makes more sense actually. It lines up with why she's flashing the timer to the viewer, because she knows she's going to win.
