I've always thought Heide was pronounced like hide, but I could very well be wrong. I just can't think of any other way to pronounce it.

Any one understand what I'm getting at, or am I rambling?

Hieda is pronounced as hee-eh-dah. It took me some time to understand what Heide was. I thought you meant in German. I believe something written as Heide would be pronounced like hide? Could be wrong.

Well, it is a german word, but to be pronounced like hide it would have to be "Heid". The e at the end isn't silent.
