It almost seems like Meiling had somehow set up a spell such that nearly all of the actual force of the blow would be taken by herself and Patchy would only receive and very small part.
There were two different hitting noises last page, the "pan" where she slapped Patchouli, and a "bachin" where I assume she's hitting herself a lot harder.
