Such a system would increase the number of pictures for janitors and mods to view by an order of magnitude, and by definition, most of the pictures they would be looking at would require no action. The Flag button is right over there, as yet unused despite all the negative comments and votes; if people would use the system as it was intended, they would find that it really isn't all that broken and probably doesn't need fixing.

I gave it a few minutes of thought and I agree with you. Though personally I'm too "polite" to flag things, or, more likely, simply do not care. In fact my comment was a reply to the previous comment, rather than to this image.
They should just use "I hate this picture" as a reason for deletion. The picture looks western to me, the content is unfunny, uninteresting and not even 4koma. But at least the art quality isn't bad.

I challenge you, to draw pictures of this quality, without any dialog, and get it posted on Danbooru. I'm saying this because my own art, albeit a completely different style thus not comparable, isn't terrible either. And it does not even get 100 views on Pixiv.
I said it's not bad from my own point of view. The anatomy isn't wrong, the face is bearable, the expressions on Kaku's face are good and Reimu has 5 fingers. Even the shadows are good.
It's just that danbooru doesn't accept western art and so forth, it doesn't mean western art is bad and shitty.
I think I've seen a couple of similar (not exactly the same) styles before posted here actually. The biggest thing about this that subtracts from the picture is the use of internet speech. We could probably even take the middle panel, enlarge it without sacrificing quality, and there probably wouldn't even be that many complaints.

Sure we do, as long as it's relevant.
Anyway, it's fine quality for a comic strip, so stop bringing up artistic reasons for why it should be gone. Of course, the problem is that it just isn't funny. That notwithstanding, the reasons for deletion are terrible. State concisely what's wrong with it without being stupid or trying to be clever.
