Well, Reisen is no Udonge, so maybe she thought she needed the gun to compensate. Doesn't look like it worked though.

Actually, the Lunarians didn't know about Danmaku until the second lunar invasion in Silent Sinner in Blue, they use real rifles and real bullets. Reimu and Marisa taught the lunar defense corp how to shoot Danmaku bullets at the beach, when Reisen II was left behind at home.

The rabbits were proficient enough thanks to their rifle drills that they beat Remelia's fairy maids in their first official (practice) damanku duels. It was to convince Watatsuki no Yorihime to have a danmaku duel as the second Lunar War.

Real bullets? So that's why that last shot killed Yukari. I thought it was some kind of gun danmaku since she didn't die after the first shot made a hole in her body.

Danmaku is non-lethal her goals kinda needs a bunch of people to die.

Reisen's gun doesn't move according to the three dimensions. If you remember when Reisen shot Yukari. And Yukari popped a border to stop it, and it was revealed that the bullet hit? Yukari said, "I thought I dodged that." And then Reisen responded, "You can't dodge a bullet that has already hit."
This mean that Reisen's bullets move along the fourth dimenion, which is time. So Reisen killed Yukari because her bullets traveled toward a later time where Yukari is hit.

Different bunbuns, same name, different assignments... different Lunacy.
