Doesn't the head looks somehow...awkward?
I mean, I'm not a pro in the human anatomy, but the head feels as if its lower than it really shoudl've.

It would need to have his chin out and eyes looking upwards to be facing the viewer like that in such a position but, even with that change, the head is still far too low.

Looks like he cut off his own head...it does seem very much lower than it should be. Though could also be the fact of the angle of the art style. Still should point out if you stare into his eyes too long he looks like he will jump right out at you.

Nope. Regardless of the angle, there is no way that a regular head can be in that position relative to the body.
