    akigumo (kancolle)

    秋雲 秋雲(艦隊これくしょん) 秋雲(艦これ) 秋雲先生 オータムクラウド先生

Kantai Collection's personification of the Japanese destroyer Akigumo. Character design by Fujikawa, voiced by Taketatsu Ayana.

She has long brown hair tied to a long ponytail, green eyes, and a mole under her right eye. Due to historical confusion on what class she was in, she wears the standard Yuugumo-class uniform: a purple halterneck pleated dress over a white shirt with long sleeves, blue bowtie, and grey pantyhose with a pair of lace-up boots.

Her rigging is a hybrid of the styles seen in the Kagerou- and Yuugumo-class: her bridge and foremast to her back with a 25 mm anti-aircraft gun, a 12.7 cm twin handgun mount, and two 61 cm quad torpedo tubes on thigh straps.

Due to her lines (and the fact that her crew illustrated the sinking Hornet in the battle of the Santa Cruz Islands), she is often portrayed as a manga artist and is sometimes shown being involved in doujinshi.

The historical Akigumo was initially grouped with the Yuugumo-class by historians. This was due to her following the -gumo naming scheme and because the Kagerou and Yuugumo-classes were quite similar in design. Researchers later found documents in 1994 indicating that she was actually meant to be the last of the Kagerou-class.
