choco girl

chocogirl

A visual aesthetic popular in kawaii subculture and j-fashion in the 2000s and early 2010s, themed around chocolate and other sweets. It most commonly follows a neapolitan palette (brown-cream-pink), but a mint chocolate inspired palette is also occasionally used. Like with most other design languages of the time, this name is a retronym, a name given to something after the fact.

In addition to imagery of sweets, common elements include polka dots, stripes, lace, musical notes and treble clefs, piano keys, ribbons and hearts. Himekaji and/or sweet lolita fashion is often worn, as well as other girly kei-adjacent styles.
