富嶽 富嶽(爆撃機)

An Imperial Japanese Navy ultra-long range heavy bomber project developed during World War II. As with other bombers, it received mountain-related name, in this case the plane was named after Mount Fuji.

The plane was designed as a part of Project Z, a project of the IJN to develop a heavy bomber capable of reaching the American mainland (much like Germany's own project and, inversely, the American's). Due to the lack of materials and worsening war situation of Japan, the project was ultimately cancelled in 1944.
