gurokawa

gurokawaii guro_kawaii グロカワ

Fashion style and visual aesthetic that is often conflated with yami kawaii due to both focusing on mixing cute elements with creepy ones.

The key difference is that gurokawa evolved from decora and focuses on gory imagery, while yami kawaii evolved from yume kawaii and focuses on medical imagery. Gurokawa was popularized by Kyary Pamyu Pamyu in the 2010s.

Common visual motifs include dripping prints, eyeballs, bones and skeletons, and traditional halloween imagery like bats or ghosts.
