A plesiosaurid cryptid rumored to be living in the eponymous Lock Ness lake in Scotland. Also referred to as "Nessie" for short.

Despite the story later being debunked as a hoax, Nessie still lives on in popular culture as one of the most recognizable cryptids, along with Bigfoot.
