protect gear

プロテクトギア

The iconic power armour seen in the Kerberos Saga, most notably the 1999 anime film Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade.

Developed by the Germans during World War II (in the series' alternate timeline), it consists of a set of mostly-conventional looking metal body armour, with a Stahlhelm and a gas mask with respirator tubes and glowing red eyes, and a metal backpack with two antennas. The protect gear is used by personnel of the Japanese Capital Police Special Unit "Kerberos" (also known as "Panzer Cops"), who are armed with MG42 machine guns (originally MG34's in The Red Spectacles).

The design is clearly inspired by the soldiers of Nazi Germany during World War II (as well as the Stormtroopers of Imperial Germany in World War I), and has influenced quite a lot of fictional soldier designs, such as Killzone, Fallout, Wolfenstein, and even Scooby-doo.
