ruyi jingu bang

如意棒 如意金箍棒

Ruyi Jingu Bang (Chinese: 如意金箍棒; Pinyin: Rúyì Jīngū Bàng, "As-you-wish Gold-Banded Cudgel"), or simply as 如意棒 (Ruyi Bang), is the poetic name of a magical staff of legend that can change its size and length as its user desires, made from bin steel. Originally appearing in Journey to the West, its appearance can vary across the various properties it has appeared in.

It is also well known due to its appearance in the Dragon Ball franchise, where it was called the 如意棒 (にょいぼう, Nyoi Bou/Nyoibo) or "Power Pole" in the English dub, where it shares the same power of length-changing, but whose true purpose is to use said ability to travel from Karin Tower to Kami's Lookout. The Nyoibo is consistently depicted as a red staff in Dragon Ball.
