A character in DanMachi. She is also the protagonist of the Familia Chronicle: Episode Ryu and the Astraea Record light novel series.
Ryu tries to live up to the ideals of justice on account of her former familia, is frequently strict in her interactions with others on account of her elven heritage, and generally does not allow others to touch her. She has some kuudere elements early on, but grows out of this as her character develops. During her time with the Astraea familia, she is depicted as being more hotheaded, in contrast with her current, more stoic self.
Ryu is an elf with tsurime-shaped sky blue eyes and golden-blonde hair, which is typically dyed light green and maintained short in a wavy pattern with long bangs and sidelocks by her co-worker Syr at the Hostess of Fertility. Prior to joining the bar, she kept her hair at waist length. Later on in the series, she stops dyeing her hair and starts to regrow it again.
Ryu's workplace attire consists of a long green dress with juliet sleeves and an orange ribbon, a white maid apron with matching maid headdress, and black tights with brown ankle boots. When out adventuring, she typically wears a long green cape with a flower-shaped hood over a white tank top with a cross-laced slit the sides. She occasionally wears a green mouth mask to hide her identity. She is typically depicted as wearing short green shorts that are similar in appearance to buruma. She wears a pair of long brown thigh boots with matching elbow gloves. She wields a long wooden sword alongside a pair of kodachi that she keeps sheathed by her waist.
