The fourth manga released in the Getter Robo Saga, Shin Getter Robo (otherwise known as Change Getter Robo) is an interquel that takes place between Getter Robo G and Getter Robo Go. Ran from 1996 to 1999.

The series was loosely adapted into an OVA in 1998, titled Shin!! Getter Robo: Sekai Saigo no Hi (known as Getter Robo Armageddon in English). The adaptation also incorporates elements of other installments in the Getter Saga, as well as elements from some of Ishikawa Ken's non-Getter works.

The titular mecha also appears prominently in Shin Getter Robo vs Neo Getter Robo.
